As a result of the later syndrome's problem, this occurs. (Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.) So, what exactly is the later syndrome?
This is when a home business owner puts off something that he or she should have done today for later. Procrastination is the term for the later syndrome. Others have coined the term "tomorrow syndrome" to describe it. Procrastination can take many forms, including taking too long to write an ezine ad, deferring article submissions, or putting off the date on which you promised yourself you'd begin an advertising campaign.
We can become aware of and deal with the later syndrome in our home businesses over time. Procrastination is a killer in the home business world. Avoid it at all costs. Your home business's future is in your hands, just as it is in the hands of an athlete, an actor, or anyone else who makes a living by achieving peak personal performance.
That is why, if and when the latter syndrome appears, everyone who wants to be successful in their home businesses must take steps to address it.

Make an effort to maintain self-control. If you set a task for today, complete it. Do not postpone it until a later date. Improve your time management skills, to put it another way.
Just keep in mind that daily discipline is the key to success in your home business. Sticking to your work schedule no matter what are examples of simple disciplines. If you have an article due today, for example, write it. Allowing any excuses to tempt you to write it later is not a good idea.
Every day, cumulative errors in judgment and decisions lead to failure in any home business. Procrastination (also called the later syndrome) is an example of a simple error.
Another strategy is to create a work environment that allows you to focus completely on your tasks. In a noisy and chaotic environment, not everyone is able to focus. As a result, set up a well-defined home business office with a conducive environment that promotes concentration.

Writing an article and submitting it to article directories on time, for example, may be more important to your home business than responding to a friend's email. Begin with that.
Get a calendar that has space for notes. I keep track of dates in a spiral-bound notebook. I keep a separate list where I transfer my short-term goals and create pages with dates for long-term planning.
Determine how long it will take to complete whatever is at the top of your priority list. Put it down for today if it's a quick task. If it will take longer than expected, break it down into smaller tasks that can be completed over several days. Make a calendar entry for each of these tasks, with specific deadlines for each. On your calendar, write down the deadline for completing this task.
Fill your calendar with tasks until you have enough time to complete each one while staying on track to meet your deadlines. Allow plenty of time for delays and don't overbook yourself. This will give you the assurance that you will be able to complete all of your tasks in the time allotted. You can now unwind and focus on one task at a time, rather than feeling pressured to complete everything at once.
